We’re pleased to announce a staffing update within the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund. Join us in welcoming Briar Blakley as the new Director of Communications and Member Relations, following Tandelyn Daniel’s tenure in the role.
For many, Briar is a familiar face at the Federation. With over six years of experience in communications and social media across entertainment, non-profit, and consumer goods sectors, she has developed a deep understanding of strategic storytelling and community engagement. Much of that experience was cultivated here in the East Point, GA office, where she began as an intern, later served as Communications Specialist, and previously stepped in as Interim Director of Communications and Member Relations.
Briar holds a Master of Arts in Mass Communications – Digital Media Strategies from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication Studies from The University of Southern Mississippi.
Beyond her professional experience, her connection to the Federation runs deep as a lifelong supporter and carries forward a multigenerational commitment to the organization’s mission and values, inspired by her family’s long-standing involvement in the cooperative movement.
As Director of Communications and Member Relations, Briar will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, based in the East Point office, leading efforts to strengthen the voice, visibility, and engagement of the organization and its member-owners. She will oversee the development and implementation of communications strategies that align with the Federation’s mission and values while cultivating meaningful relationships with our membership of farmers, landowners, and cooperatives.
