You’ll hear from Federation Board Chair Shirley Blakley, alongside Federation staff Jackie Figg, Shelia Daniels, and Alicia Jordan, and Louise Witherspoon Williams, daughter of Federation founding cooperative member Estelle Witherspoon.
As we close out Women’s History Month, we’re creating space for reflection and conversation. Join us for a special webinar on Monday, Noon Eastern time, recognizing the UN’s designation of this year as the International Year of the Woman Farmer.
This conversation will highlight how women are advancing entrepreneurship through farming, cooperative leadership, and community-rooted agriculture. From land stewardship to local food systems, women continue to play a critical role in cultivating both economic opportunity and community well-being.
Grounded in the legacy of leaders like Estelle Witherspoon and Fannie Lou Hamer, this discussion will explore both the opportunities and challenges women face in agriculture today, while lifting up the knowledge, resilience, and vision that continue to shape this work.
We hope you’ll join us for a thoughtful and engaging conversation rooted in shared experience and community. Please share!
